This quote from our School Improvement Plan highlights our drive to raise standards in our school. We are proud of the ongoing improvements to standards. One way of showing this achivement is to study the school results.

Official value added data for the 2010 results is not yet available.

Official value added data for the results from the May 2009 SATs show the following.
That over the last three years the school has achieved a strong upward improvement trend in standards.
That in English, Maths and Science in 2009 the school achieved above the national average attainment.
That overall across the three subjects the school improved its percentile rank from 21st in 2007 to 17th in 2009.
That for all pupil groups, with the exception of one traveller child who suffered a lengthy spell in hospital, pupil progress was better than the national average.


Official value added data for the results from the May 2008 SATs show the following.

That over the last three years the school has achieved a strong upward improvement trend in standards.
That in English, Maths and Science in 2008 the school achieved above the national average attainment.
When ranked against similar schools nationally our school improved its ranking from 68th in 2005 to 13th by 2008.
When ranked against similar schools nationally i 2008 our school achieved a ranking of 33rd in English, 6th in Maths and 14th in Science.
That all pupil groups achieved above the national mean figure.

Developments for the future

The future direction of the school is decided by the school management and Governors working in close co-operation. Our starting point for planning is rigorous self evaluation backed by use of all available data. To this is added the findings of surveys that allow us to assess the wider requirements of pupils.
