Extra-Curricular Activities In addition to the education that takes place within the normal school day, there are a variety of after school clubs children can take part in. The variety depends on children’s interests and the availability of an interested or skilled teacher or Teaching Assistant. Some activites are run by outside providers and will involve a cost to pupils or thier parents. The school recognises and thanks the staff for their voluntary commitment to delivering a range of activities in their own time. The links on the left give an indication of the activities that the children have been involved with in recent years. A list of current activities for the current term is below. We are delighted that in the autumn term 2006 our records show that approximately 60% of our pupils were involved in one or more extra curricular activity.
If your child is taking part in an after school session you will be sent full details in advance. This copy is for your records and we ask that pupils are collected promptly at the end of sessions as there are no staff available beyond that time to provide child care facilities. The school reserves the right to ask a pupil to no longer attend sessions if they are regularly late in being collected, if their behaviour causes problems in the session or if they don't turn up without a valid reason being notified by the parent. Parents are asked to provide collection details and emergency contact details on a form before the child attends any session. The school will notify parents if for any reason the session has to be cancelled. You will find a contact details form and typical session information form in our policy document which is available for you to download below.
