Governors responsibilities.

The Governors wish to alert parents that they continue to ensure they fulfuil their statutory obligations as follows; All pupils are taught the National Curriculum. The school provides teaching of religious education in accordance with the locally agreed syllabus and parents have the right to withdraw their children from this. The school provides a daily act of collective worship for all pupils and parents have the right to withdraw their children from this. The school has a written policy on sex and relationships education which is available for parents. The Governors have agreed the content of the programme and parents have the right to withdraw their children from this. The Governing Body has policies to ensure that it does not discriminate against learners, job applicants or staff on the grounds of gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion and belief, marital status or age. The Governing Body complies with its duties under teh sex Discrimination Act 1975, has a gender equality scheme, complies with its duties under the Race relations Act 1976 and complies with its general duties under the disability Discrimination Act having a disability equality scheme.

There is no longer a requirement for Governors to hold this annual meeting. Arrangements are in hand to change to another method of informing parents about the school, through a School Profile.
